After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lumberton, Lufkin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians with a sharp 16-4 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Fightin' Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Lufkin's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Jacksonville, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lufkin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against New Caney on the 6th. As for Jacksonville, they will head out on the road to challenge Whitehouse at 7:00 p.m. on March 11th. Jacksonville has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
