Baseball Recap: Winston County Comes Up Short

Winston County was the 6-1 winner over Addison when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Winston County Yellowjackets came up short against the Addison Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 15-5. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dillyn Chancey and Eli Green did some serious damage despite the final result: Chancey went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI, while Green scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Chancey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Clemons, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Winston County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Addison, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winston County will host Meek at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Addison, they will take on Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
