St. Joseph and Edison are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Falcons will welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, St. Joseph was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Thomas Aquinas, taking the game 6-1.
Domenic Erbafina looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, St. Joseph let JP Zayle and Logan Ring run wild. Zayle went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Ring went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Zayle has become a key player for St. Joseph: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.
Meanwhile, while Edison put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for St. Joseph. The Eagles walked away with a 5-0 win over the Falcons. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Connor Murphy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Murphy was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ray Tavarez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
St. Joseph is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Edison's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Joseph hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .410. It's a different story for Edison, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain St. Joseph's hitters?
