The Western Warriors were the 54-18 winner over the Fairdale Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Western took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairdale on Saturday. Western has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aubryonna Durrah and Demetriaunna Shouse certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Durrah scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and five steals, while Shouse scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Durrah is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Leslie Bright, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Western's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Fairdale, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western will square off against Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern is on a three-game streak of home losses, Western a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for Fairdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Campbellsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
