De Kalb is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Atlanta Rabbits at 5:30 p.m. De Kalb is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
De Kalb is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Liberty-Eylau 23-1 on Monday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Kaydee Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Starrett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaitlin Parks was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
De Kalb always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Atlanta unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Redwater by a score of 6-4.
Gabby Arredondo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Carlajah Adger made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Davis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
De Kalb's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Atlanta, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4-1.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. De Kalb has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .481. However, it's not like Atlanta struggles in that department as they've averaged .477. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
