The Upland Highlanders/Scots will face off against the Los Osos Grizzlies at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Upland has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Los Osos will come in with three straight wins.
On Tuesday, Upland came up short against St. Lucy's and fell 3-1. While the Highlanders/Scots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Regents 25-14 in the first set.
Upland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-20.
Rancho Cucamonga came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Los Osos, but Josslyn Jacks wouldn't allow it. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday for which the team can thank Jacks, who had 12 kills, ten aces, and eight digs. Jacks is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.
The final score came out to 25-10, 25-21, 25-15.
Los Osos' win came from a few key players Upland will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chloe Taylor, who had ten kills, six digs, and one block. Another player making a difference was Annaly Landeros, who had 16 digs and two aces.
Los Osos' victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Upland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Upland took their win against Los Osos in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Highlanders/Scots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
