Yerington had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Saturday. They blew past the Sierra Lutheran Falcons 13-1. Considering the Lions have won 18 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Valor Angle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyson Shramek, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brody Carlgren, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Yerington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sierra Lutheran only posted an OBP of .391.

Yerington's win was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Sierra Lutheran, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-20-1.

Coming up, Yerington will square off against North Tahoe at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Lakers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. Sierra Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
