After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kiel, the Milwaukee Juneau Pioneers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Meir by a score of 62-53. Given Milwaukee Juneau's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milwaukee Juneau found their leader in underclassman Dooney Johnson, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last seven games he's played. Sean Blain-Trotter was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Milwaukee Juneau's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Meir, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Milwaukee Juneau won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Purgolders at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Washington is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. Meir does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
