Southwest Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. On Friday, they narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Red Oak 24-21. That result is just more of the same for Southwest Valley, who also won the last time these teams played. This was the first game for both teams, giving Southwest Valley a 1-0 record and starting Red Oak off at 0-1.
Next week, Southwest Valley take on Central Decatur at 7:00 PM. As for Red Oak, they will face of against Clarinda.
