Volleyball Recap: Olympia Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Olympia had won two straight games and Alice Fischer did her part to make it three on Wednesday. Everything went the Bears' way against the South Kitsap Wolves as they made off with a 3-0 victory thanks in part to Fischer, who had 13 digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 22 or more in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season.

Olympia never let South Kitsap on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, South Kitsap saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Natania Bauro had nine digs and two aces. Carly Lyons also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Olympia's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for South Kitsap, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Olympia will be playing in front of their home fans against Yelm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Kitsap, after both having extra time off, they and Bethel will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
