Section 6 DD recap October 8, 2013
Panama's Stephen Enlow recorded the longest rushing play in Section 6 DD this season in his game against Cassadaga Valley last week. Enlow's team topped the Cougars as he sprinted for 60 yards on the play and finished with 90 in all.
Panama moved up to 293 from 354 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Chris Payne's team climbed the ranks as a result of besting Cassadaga Valley 39-6.
Brady Collver threw for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 11-20 with 1 interception.
Collver put up the best numbers in passing as Frewsburg defeated Sherman. Collver's favorite target this week was Josh Nelson, who caught 5 passes for 87 yards.
The Bears' Collver and Bryce Peterson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Collver has thrown for 592 yards this season, while Peterson has 10 catches for 208 yards. Kyle Saxton from the Panthers leads the league in rushing with 454 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Frewsburg's Peterson goes up against Clymer Central's Mitch Einink.
Next week's game between Terry Gray's team and the Pirates will feature an aerial matchup as Collver tests his arm against Einink's defensive ability.
A big matchup in Section 6 DD this week will be when Franklinville takes on Panama. As it stands, the Panthers are in fifth, while the Panthers are in second.
