After a string of three wins, the Hickory H Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Greater Vision Academy, falling 80-53. Hickory H was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-25.
Greater Vision Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Johntez Raspberry led the charge by scoring 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tobius Baker, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Hickory H's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Greater Vision Academy, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory H will take on Faith Christian Academy on Monday. As for Greater Vision Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Gospel Light Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
