While Normal Community's victory against Peoria Notre Dame wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ironmen had just enough and edged out the Irish 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Ironmen in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won four in a row.

Landyn Corbin looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Normal Community saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Swartz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Beckett Weber also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Normal Community's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Peoria Notre Dame, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
