The Camden County Wildcats entered their tilt with the Valdosta Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Camden County came out on top against Valdosta by a score of 57-49 on Friday. This was payback for Camden County, who suffered a 77-62 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Ja'Marley Riddle was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwann Brown, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Valdosta's loss came despite strong showings from Jabarri Williams and Grant Jackson. Williams scored 14 points, while Jackson scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Jason King was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Camden County pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Valdosta, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season.
Camden County will head out on the road to take on Raines at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Raines will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Valdosta won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lowndes at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Lowndes focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 back in December of 2023.
