Lake-Lehman is 9-1 against Hanover Area since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will welcome the Hawkeyes at 4:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lake-Lehman has eight straight victories, Hanover Area has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Hanover Area's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Lake-Lehman hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Knights didn't even let MMI Preparatory School on the board on Tuesday, marking the Knights' second-straight 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaitlyn Brudnicki was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Haylee Makarewicz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Lake-Lehman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .769. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hanover Area started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Holy Redeemer. They lost 14-7 to the Royals on Tuesday.
Hanover Area got a big performance out of Ava Malcarne, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Ponko, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Lake-Lehman's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Hanover Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lake-Lehman has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .527. However, it's not like Hanover Area struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
