The Farmersville Farmers will be playing at home against the Aubrey Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Farmersville got the win against Sanger by a conclusive 30-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Farmersville.
Farmersville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Norman out in front who threw for 201 yards and a touchdown on only 16 passes. Another player making a difference was Gerardo Reyes, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Sanger to a paltry 232 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Farmersville's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Sanger's QB won't forget Levi Smith anytime soon given Smith sacked him five times.
Meanwhile, Aubrey had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 49-7 victory over Sanger at home. With Aubrey ahead 35-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Farmersville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow isn't as good as their 7-2 record this season. As for Aubrey, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4.
Farmersville was dealt a bruising 59-0 defeat at the hands of Aubrey when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Farmersville have more luck at home instead of on the road?
