Walther Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the De La Salle Meteors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. De La Salle took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Walther Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
Walther Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They really took it to Northtown for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-13 win at home. Walther Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.
Walther Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jocelyn Rivera, who scored 15 points along with nine assists and four steals, and Saniyya Harvey, who scored 36 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Harvey has scored at least a third of Walther Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yanni Hoskins, who scored four points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for De La Salle, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-44 loss to Glenbrook North on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for De La Salle in their matchups with Glenbrook North: they've now lost three in a row.
Walther Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for De La Salle, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
Walther Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 65-43 defeat they got from De La Salle in their previous matchup back in January of 2023.
