Alpharetta (Ga.) was up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a
Josh Dobbs touchdown pass to
Brayn Monue in the second quarter.
The Raiders expanded their lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. Alpharetta's lone score in the quarter came on a Dobbs touchdown pass to
Carlos Burse.
A 21-point second quarter helped AHS secure the big victory. The Raiders scored three touchdowns on passing plays during the quarter, boosted by one reception by Monue.
James Little played well for
Lambert (Suwanee, Ga.). The senior running back ran for one touchdown.
The Longhorns' lone touchdown came on an 8-yard run by Little in the second quarter.
Alpharetta came in allowing an average of 27.1 points per game this season. AHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept Lambert well below the 21.1 points it had been averaging per game.
With the win the Raiders extended their winning streak to four games.
Lambert (5-3) will play a AAAAAA Region 6 game against Chattahoochee next week, while Alpharetta (5-3) will take on Centennial also in a AAAAAA Region 6 game.
