After flying high against the Cecilia Bulldogs last Friday, the Ville Platte Bulldogs came back down to earth. Ville Platte fell 50-41 to North Vermilion on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Ville Platte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while North Vermilion is ranked 107th).
Ville Platte's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Janiah Leday, who scored 20 points along with three steals, and raeosha thomas who scored two points along with six rebounds. Leday scored a full 48.8% of Ville Platte's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ville Platte's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for North Vermilion, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Ville Platte will be home for the holidays to greet Beau Chene at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Vermilion, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Arthur at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Arthur will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
