6A Region 8 recap November 5, 2013
Khari Blasingame of Buckhorn ran for the longest rushing play in 6A Region 8 this season against Gardendale last week. Blasingame's team bested the Rockets as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 175 in all.
Bob Jones and Muscle Shoals played the closest game in the league this week, with Bob Jones eventually emerging with a 24-23 victory.
Buckhorn's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dalen Morris threw for 161 and 2 touchdowns and Makenzie Graham had 80 yards receiving. On the ground Blasingame contributed 175 yards. Ladarian Fletcher helped Buckhorn's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.

The Bucks' Dustin Scott and Graham led 6A Region 8 in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 1,344 yards this season, while Graham has 45 catches for 588 yards. Sparkman's Lorenzo James leads the league in rushing yards with 1,039.
Buckhorn's Blasingame is a mere 94 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 132 carries Blasingame has put up 906 yards this year.
The Senators fell to Athens 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
