Ware County has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Warner Robins Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ware County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They didn't even let Decatur onto the board and left with a 49-0 victory. Considering Ware County has won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ware County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dae'jeaun Dennis, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Rj Boyd was in the mix too, providing Ware County with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Warner Robins came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by McIntosh at home to the tune of 48-15. Warner Robins pushed the score to 41-15 by the end of the third, a deficit McIntosh had little chance of recovering from.
Ware County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Warner Robins, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-3 record.
Everything went Ware County's way against Warner Robins when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Ware County made off with a 38-13 victory. Will Ware County repeat their success, or does Warner Robins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
