Webutuck is 0-4 against Mount Academy since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Webutuck Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Mount Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Webutuck ended up a good deal behind Dover and lost 87-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (61), Webutuck still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Mount Academy made easy work of Tuxedo on Thursday and carried off a 59-33 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mount Academy.
Mount Academy can attribute much of their success to Jake Maendel, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Maendel has scored at least 25% of Mount Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dennis Hofer, who scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks.
The losses dropped Webutuck to 0-2 and Dover to 1-1.
Webutuck was taken down by Mount Academy 71-36 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Webutuck avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
