After flying high against the Northside Indians last Friday, the Harrold Hornets came back down to earth. Harrold had to suffer through a rough 87-59 loss at the hands of Benjamin. While losing is never fun, Harrold can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1220th, while Benjamin is ranked 384th).
It was another big night for Grayson Rigdon, who shot 10-for-15 from long range and dropped a double-double on 49 points and ten rebounds for Benjamin. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Rigdon has scored at least a third of Benjamin's points. Another player making a difference was Keegan Hayes, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Harrold has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Benjamin, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Harrold will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crowell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Benjamin, they will head out on the road to square off against Munday at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
