The Highland Tech Rams pushed their score all the way to 64 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 75-64 to Thomas Jefferson. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (60), Highland Tech still had to take the loss.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper McCraw, who scored 17 points. McCraw continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Sherrill, who scored 18 points.
Highland Tech has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Thomas Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Highland Tech is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Burns at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Hopefully Burns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. Thomas Jefferson and Bessemer City will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bessemer City is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
