Norborne is 2-8 against the Wildcats since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Norborne Pirates' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Southwest Wildcats at 12:15 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Norborne is ranked 580th, while the Wildcats are ranked 556th).
Last Saturday, Norborne came up short against the Tigers and fell 42-32.
Meanwhile, Southwest beat the Bobcats 42-34 on Wednesday. The win was just what Southwest needed coming off of a 61-34 loss in their prior game.
Southwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Warren out in front who scored 19 points along with five steals. Will Hughes was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Norborne's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Southwest, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Norborne came up short against the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 32-19. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hughes, who scored 17 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
