Basketball Game Preview: Lakes Lancers vs. North Mason Bulldogs

The Lakes Lancers and the North Mason Bulldogs will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lakes is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Timberline 170-104 on Thursday. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Blazers are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakes' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ehmarii Mcchristian, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, and Samara Oliver, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. Mcchristian's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Lehua Stephens was another key player, putting up six points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Lakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 34 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 29 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, North Mason put another one in the bag last Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Kingston by a score of 49-41.

Lakes has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.8 points per game. As for North Mason, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
