Softball Recap: Alta Loma Has No Trouble Against Colony

Alta Loma barely beat Colony the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Braves were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Titans on Wednesday. Considering the Braves have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lexi Rodriguez was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Serrano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Alta Loma was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February.

Alta Loma pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Colony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Alta Loma is taking a road trip to square off against South Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Colony, they will square off against San Dimas at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
