The General Brown Lions waltzed into their game Saturday with nine straight wins dating back to last season but they left with ten. They secured a 57-51 W over Indian River. That's another feather in the cap for General Brown, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Indian River's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allison Lamora, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Lamora hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Davis, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
General Brown's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Indian River, their loss dropped their record down to 6-1.
General Brown and Edwards-Knox will round out the year against one another at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday at. Edwards-Knox is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Indian River will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cortland at 12:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
