The Smiths Station Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. Their tough 72-47 loss to Booker T. Washington might stick with them for a while. Smiths Station was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Booker T. Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marquez Daniels, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Daniels hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Hall, who scored 20 points.
Smiths Station has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Booker T. Washington, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.
Smiths Station does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Booker T. Washington will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brewbaker Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Golden Eagles likes a good challenge.
