Forest City has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Blue Ridge Raiders at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Forest City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 621st, while Blue Ridge is ranked 211th).
Forest City lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Mid Valley, falling 65-15. Forest City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-7.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins but they left with six. They were the clear victor by a 58-33 margin over Elk Lake. Blue Ridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 25 points or more this season.
Forest City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Blue Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Forest City came up short against Blue Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 63-57. Can Forest City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
