Grove Christian School is 7-1 against The Carmel School since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Grove Christian School Falcons will head out on the road to face off against The Carmel School Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Grove Christian School will be strutting in after a victory while The Carmel School will be coming in after a loss.
After only 14 points in their last match, Grove Christian School made sure to put some points up on the board against The New Community School on Saturday. Grove Christian School simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat The New Community School 62-2 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-2.
Grove Christian School found their leader in underclassman Emily Hopkins, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 steals. Hopkins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sidney Fisher, who scored 6 points along with 14 rebounds and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, The Carmel School had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a serious blow against Richmond Christian last Thursday, falling 64-18. The Carmel School was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-11.
The losses dropped Grove Christian School to 2-2 and The New Community School to 0-3.
Everything went Grove Christian School's way against The Carmel School in their previous matchup back in February as Grove Christian School made off with a 37-11 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grove Christian School since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
