On Friday, The North Medford Black Tornado faced the South Medford Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. North Medford didn't even let South Medford onto the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Medford.
Leading North Medford to victory were Landyn Meeker and Jeremiah Robbins. Meeker rushed for 105 yards on only ten carries, while Robbins rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown.
North Medford's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for South Medford, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
North Medford will head out on the road to face off against Central Catholic on Friday. Central Catholic will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for South Medford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Jefferson's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
