The Southeast Golden Buffalo will head out on the road to square off against the Emporia Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Southeast has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Emporia will arrive with five straight victories.
Southeast suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Bishop Carroll at home and fell 66-27.
Despite the loss, Southeast had strong showings from Alana Webb, who scored 14 points, and Leela Jones, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.
Meanwhile, Emporia beat Manhattan 53-41 last Thursday.
Southeast has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Emporia, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
