Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Apache Junction's offense. They came up short against Seton Catholic on Friday, falling 11-0. The Prospectors haven't had much luck with the Sentinels recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Apache Junction saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Hunsaker, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Florence's record is now 11-6. As for Apache Junction, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Florence has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Apache Junction struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
