The Leroy Bears pushed their score all the way to 60 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Excel 64-60. Leroy has not had much luck with Excel recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaquan Scott, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Scott pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Crumedy, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Leroy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Excel, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Leroy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Leroy likes a good challenge. Excel won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Millry at 1:00 p.m. on December 19th. Millry comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
