Softball Recap: Crestline Comes Up Short

Crestline scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Plymouth Big Red, falling 18-11. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Big Red when the teams met back in March of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

LaVanna Sanders made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. She also put up three RBI, which were her first of the season. Tori Kapp was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Crestline's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Plymouth, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Crestline will head out to take on Lucas at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Cubs at the right time seeing as the Cubs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Plymouth, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Colonel Crawford at 5:00 p.m.
