Football Recap: Neosho Starts Season with Victory Against Glendale

Neosho gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Glendale Falcons with a 44-38 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Neosho was led to victory by Keisean Rhone and Blayne Patterson. Rhone rushed for 212 yards and one touchdown, while Patterson threw for 234 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 212 rushing yards gave Rhone a new career-high. A healthy portion of Patterson's aerial production (104 yards to be exact) went to Lincoln Howard, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Neosho didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brodie Mitchell and Oliver Martin. Jaxon Ertel was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Coming up, Neosho will take on Kickapoo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Glendale, they will square off against Willard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
