Indian River won against Appoquinimink on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Everything went the Indians' way against the Middletown Cavaliers as they made off with a 10-1 victory. Dylan Grise made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Kayden Vaught was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nolan Staniszewski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
