The Tampa Prep Terrapins gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cypress Creek 73-33 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-23.
Tampa Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chandler White Brooks, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of J'London Bivens, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was River Randall, who scored 6 points. Another player making a difference was Rowan Gayle, who scored 5 points.
Cypress Creek struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Tampa Prep racked up 14.
Tampa Prep's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cypress Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Tampa Prep will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. As for Cypress Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wesley Chapel has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 274 points over their last four games.
