Coral Reef has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 70-64 victory over Braddock on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given Coral Reef's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Braddock is ranked 184th).
Coral Reef's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nathaniel Wesley, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wesley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Santos, who scored 16 points.
JC Bermudez Doral suffered their closest loss yet this season last Tuesday. They fell just short of Goleman by a score of 66-64.
Coral Reef's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-11. As for JC Bermudez Doral, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
