Pasquotank County is 1-8 against Hertford County since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Hertford County will be up against a hot Pasquotank County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Panthers claimed a resounding 36-0 victory over Camden County. The Panthers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three contests.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pasquotank County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayon Harris, who rushed for 122 yards and three scores on only eight carries, and also picked up 63 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Harris is now averaging an impressive 103.8 rushing yards per game. Another rusher making a difference was Tyshawn Spencer, who rushed for 133 yards and one TD on only 14 carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Pasquotank County proved: they limited Camden County to a paltry 1.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Kenneth Mashall for the heroic effort on defense: he. Pasquotank County didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.8.
Meanwhile, while Hertford County put up plenty of points last Friday, the same can't be said for Roanoke Rapids. The Bears blew past the Yellowjackets, posting a 34-0 win. The Bears' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Pasquotank County better keep an eye on Ayden Everette. He was instrumental in Hertford County's win, rushing for 198 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. Everette was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hertford County's defense and their three sacks. Chase Everette was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.
Hertford County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pasquotank County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Pasquotank County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 253.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hertford County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 170.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Pasquotank County was able to grind out a solid win over Hertford County in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 20-7. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
