The Union Area Scotties have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 31 points or more this season. They blew past Western Beaver 56-25 at home. 56 seems to be a good number for Union Area as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Lucas Stanley was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Union Area's points. Another player making a difference was Dayne Johnke, who scored eight points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Union Area and bumps their season record up to 5-8. As for Western Beaver, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Area will challenge Rochester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rochester has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 255 points over their last four games. Western Beaver is on the road again on Friday and play against Cornell at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Cornell is on a six-game streak of home losses, Western Beaver a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
