Montwood fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Socorro on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Grace Ponzio was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that she launched this season. Trinity Munoz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 21-7. As for Socorro, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-1.

Montwood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-4 win against Franklin on the 5th. As for Socorro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Eastwood on the 4th.
