The Jones Eagles will face off against the Senn Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Jones is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Jones needed a bit of extra time to put away Chicago University. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Maroons 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 4th.

Renzo Sansonetti and Jack Hiltz were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Sansonetti tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hiltz tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Sansonetti has become a key player for Jones: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 10-15 otherwise. At the plate, Sansonetti got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Hiltz went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most runs Sansonetti has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, John Clifford was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Christophe DeWijkerslooth, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Senn came out on top against Prosser on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Bulldogs blew past the Falcons 12-3. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Like Jones, Senn also got a great game from a two-way player: Jones Sweetman. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Sweetman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Goldman, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Donachie Conlon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Jones has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Senn, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jones has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. However, it's not like Senn struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
