The Northwestern Bulls have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Fork on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Northwestern saw an underclassman step up: Calvin Russel scored 31 points along with four steals. Russel scored a full 64.6% of Northwestern's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Myron Parker Jr., who scored six points.
Northwestern has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season. As for South Fork, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Northwestern is on the road again on Saturday and play against Hialeah Educational Academy at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th. South Fork and Palm Beach Gardens will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Palm Beach Gardens has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 247 points over their last four contests.
