Egyptian and Century are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Egyptian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Egyptian pushed their score all the way to 58, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Cairo at home and fell 91-58. Egyptian has struggled against Cairo recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brandon Plott, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Damarion Clark, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Century scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 87-60 win over Joppa-Maple Grove. Century has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 22 points or more this season.
Egyptian dropped their record down to 5-18 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Century, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
Egyptian suffered a grim 71-49 defeat to Century in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Egyptian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
