The Willsboro Central Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Bolton Central Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willsboro Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Willsboro Central lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Chazy on the road and fell 56-14. While losing is never fun, Willsboro Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 671st, while the Eagles are ranked 282nd).
Meanwhile, Bolton Central can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They put the hurt on Wells with a sharp 61-36 victory. Bolton Central's win was all the more impressive since the Wells CSD were averaging only 29.87 points allowed on the season.
Bolton Central found their leader in underclassman Maille Kelley, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelley has scored all season. Thea Kennedy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Willsboro Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Bolton Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.
Willsboro Central was taken down by the Eagles 69-20 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Willsboro Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
