It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Thompson Warriors had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past Florence 42-0 at home. Thompson might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven games by 26 points or more this season.
Leading Thompson to victory were Aj Green and Trent Seaborn. Green gained 149 total yards and two touchdowns, while Seaborn threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns while completing 86.2% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Michael Dujon, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The win was the fifth in a row for Thompson, bringing their record for this year to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Florence, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5.
Thompson will face off against Vestavia Hills at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Vestavia Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 139 points over their last three matchups. Florence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
