Even though the Durango Trailblazers scored an imposing 62 points on Wednesday, the Spring Valley Grizzlies still came out on top. Spring Valley pulled ahead with a 63-62 photo finish over Durango. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Spring Valley.
Spring Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alijah Adem, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Adem has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordon Cosby, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Spring Valley's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Durango, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will take on Silverado at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Silverado's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. Durango on the road again on Friday and play against Canyon Springs at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Canyon Springs is ranked 36th, while Durango is ranked 55th).
