Slinger has gone 8-2 against West Bend East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Suns at 4:45 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Slinger lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Cedarburg, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Owls never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Thursday. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Owls yet this season.
Jackson Naber tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Slinger let Kaleb Burkel and Grady Chvosta run wild. Burkel got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Chvosta got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. What's more, Burkel posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Macay Wagner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Slinger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedarburg only posted an OBP of .111.
Meanwhile, West Bend East made easy work of Homestead on Thursday and carried off a 9-3 win.
The victory was the third in a row for Slinger, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for West Bend East, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Slinger came out on top in a nail-biter against West Bend East when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Owls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Suns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
